How these Filters Automatically Self Clean Themselves?
The Filter Element consists of a wedge wire filter or metal ribbon filter media. This filter element is coupled with a scraper assembly. This is connected to motor by a shaft. There is one automatic drain valve. The motor and drain valve is controlled by a control panel.
The liquid enters the body and flows through the element from outside to inside. So the dirt /debris gets collected on the outside surface of the filter element.
Depending on the site requirements, the control panel is set to work based on differential pressure or on pre-set time limits. So when the clogging exceeds a pre-set limit or based on set time intervals, the control motor starts rotating the scraper assembly against the filter element and simultaneously opens the drain valve. This creates a very high difference in internal operating working pressure and outside atmospheric pressure.
So by the scraper action, the dirt gets dislodged and due to high differential pressure reverse flow also takes place and dislodges the dirt as well and all the dirt and debris gets flushed out of system in few seconds.
Once the collected debris is scraped off the filter element surface new filtration area gets regenerated without any interruption or stoppage of flow.
The debris accumulated in the vessel during element rotation is automatically drained. All this happens without any manual intervention.
These Self Cleaning Filters eliminate the need for cartridge replacement / cleaning. Maintenance costs, Replacement costs, Inventory, Labour & Downtime are completely minimized.
